Proposals for the National Literacy Coaching Summit are due December 15. Our online proposal form is available below (scroll down). If you prefer to fill out and mail a hard copy, download our printable proposal form here. You only need to fill out one formonline or mailed copynot both.
Presentation formats
The Reading Conference allows you to present your research in a number of ways:
- Poster Session
Poster sessions are something like exhibits. You present research or classroom practice in visual form. Participants circulate through the poster sessions and ask questions of the presenters. Presenters should have handouts descrbing activities or research. Each poster session will have one 30" x 72" table to display material. Materials may not be affixed to the wall; they must be self supporting.
- Sessions
Sessions are 45 minute presentations delivered to 10 to 40 people. Handouts should be available.
- Institutes
Institutes are 75 minute in-depth presentations with comprehensive handouts. Participant interaction is encouraged. Institutes may have up to 50 people attending.
- Virtual Presentation
A PowerPoint presentation that demonstrates a topic of interest to literacy professionals. Possible presentation topics could include examples of student work, demonstrations of effective strategies, or results of research projects. These presentations will be projected on large screens during the luncheon.
*A special note about all proposals: Privacy protocol requires that student names not be displayed on examples of student work. Photographs or videos of students cannot be shown unless permission has been obtained from parents or guardians. With the submission of a proposal for a virtual presentation, the presenter is certfying that all appropriate permissions have been obtained from parents and schools. University facutly and students must have approcval from their respective Institutional Review Boards.
